An iconic East Vancouver cultural institution, The Rio Theatre opened in 1930 and was saved from demolition by a passionate community campaign in 2011. Now a licensed 19+ venue, it blends indie film screenings, live comedy, concerts, wrestling events, and cult classics into one of the city's most eclectic programming calendars.
